We expect nothing of our matchday guests. It's more than enough that they turn up, enabling us to feast on their store of memories and anecdotes, and with a bit of luck witness a United win.. Peter Phillips, our guest today at the Oxford game, went a lot further. His generous donation to 100 Years of Coconuts will help us to carry on telling the story of our club. What a gent he is. Peter was accompanied by his friend Ian Faulkner, an Oxford native who now lives in the more civilised surroundings of Cambs. After an entertaining game, they visited The Story of the U's, the Coconuts mini-museum in the Supporters' Club. Those whose memories stretch back to the early 1970s will remember Peter as a lightning-quick winger or striker. An England amateur international and a Cambridge University football Blue – the only one in United's history – he made 51 full appearances between 1971 and 1973 and scored 15 goals. We know you read Coconuts, Peter, so let us make our | gratitude for your company and your cheque public: thanks a million. We're looking forward to your next visit.
